Wirelessman
- Log at least 25 amateur radio stations or CB users showing details of date, time, call sign, frequency, readability and location.
- Demonstrate how to tune a simple receiver.
- Demonstrate the use of CB equipment by making contact with another user and maintaining contact for at least 2 minutes.
- Either of the following:
(b) Demonstrate a knowledge of DTI recommended code of practice and the reasons for reserved channels.
5. Either of the following:
(a) Know the International phonetic alphabet and define at least 8 international Q code signals and show an ability to recognise call signs from the UK or near continent.
(b) Show a knowledge of the ‘ten codes’ used and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
6. Understand the regulations governing the use of amateur radio equipment, or, the DTI CB licence.
Note: Radio Amateur Novice A or B certificate holders qualify for this badge.
